Impact

Sandwell and Black Country Impact supports unemployed young people and adults in overcoming barriers that are preventing them from progressing into education, employment and training.

To sign up for the programme, you need to be:

  1. Living in Sandwell, Walsall, Wolverhampton or Dudley
  2. Not in education, training or employment
  3. Aged between 16 – 29 years

How will Impact support me?

When you enrol, you will receive Mentor and PA support for as long as you need. This will include information, advice and guidance based on your interests and current labour market needs.

We can support you in a number of ways:

  • To improve maths, English and ICT and gain qualifications
  • To gain practical qualifications, such as the CSCS Cards, to work in the construction industry
  • To explore your job ideas and to develop your career plans
  • To try out some work tasters
  • To improve your self-esteem and confidence
  • With mental health issues
  • With your CV and getting ready for an interview
  • With interview clothes
  • Help with relevant travel costs
  • To understand and developing your life skills (for example, time and budget management)
  • To develop your employability skills – what employers expect from you

We will work with providers on your behalf  to create programmes that are of interest to you.
